Sparkling

Gatherings of light, beloved at the core
Let me count the many coats and shoes
Resting together, quietly at our front door
Escaping the darkness, time for good news

Counting on our friends mingling here
Warming each to each, but a little afraid
Acceptance, forgiveness, find some near
Gentle conversations, confessions made

Meet again, surprised, our comfort remains
Hand in hand, dancing, swirling affection
Reminders; wildflowers along country lanes
So many stories in this time for reflection

Food and drink against the outside cold
Candles lit, remembrance, never old
