STREETS OF BEIRUT – 1975

I remember nightfall
that moon rose
sharpened spade
attempting to bury
what light clung
to those shadows of
shattered cedar

memories surge from
The dead & trying
horizon crumbled
ruins abound
once I played
upon that very street
