ANOTHER HAMPSTEAD INCIDENT

Many times
By the Everyman I have tripped out
That seems a long time ago
Walking past it yesterday
Brought back this memory flow
“Bubbles and Bodhisattvas surround me
Magnetise the air arround me”
So sang David Medalla on the brow of Parliament Hill
In the Summer of 1968
Each day I remember it still
From the shackles of school I had been expelled
I was 16 and felt joyfully free
And that was where I first encountered
The Exploding Galaxy
As I write this short reminiscence
With the simplicity of rhyme
Perhaps a Bodhisattva is guiding the pen
That is pricking
The bubble of time
