A Response to Mantra of Stars by Unmoor Kiva
Under an unveiling guitar, the stated words find foundation,
Spirit of Eden is splintered, is further prised apart and invoked
As Mantra of Stars by Unmoor Kiva emerges
Graces song and ear image
As soft fallen prayer finds soul’s slope.
Here, then, is power harnessed with ominous drone
And insurgence
……………………………of both string and vocal
As ‘false ground marks the age.’
This spectral song breaks through earth
To find the special cause for cessation,
Its cryptic lyric speaks of civilisations sought
Through Time’s page.
As the guitar wauls and stops,
Raging embittered fight against silence,
A gathering storm offers promise
Against which no earthly bind could defend.
Reverberation. Echo.
From any number of sources,
As the vocal refrains paint the chamber
Along the ancient pass, without end.
‘Dreamlike drafts of ash intertwine merits’
With words like these, wisely placed sound becomes painted
As breath can be on a window or in a final and lost
Prized exchange.
Here then is the mantra to learn
As Adam Sherry sings through the glamour,
And Gemma Thompson conveys him
With the wreckage of strings that dreams raise.
As Sam Sherry drums, intoning all,
…………………………………………………Dark grows peaceful.
As these shards from a lost time
Re-engage ours,
Stars are carved.
A song appears from the stream
And forms the new air around us,
Breathe in here as you listen:
As the drift transports
Soothe your scars.
